Is prize money awarded for the Augusta Half Marathon?

No, prize money will not be awarded for the Augusta Half Marathon.

 

Will age group awards be presented?

Augusta Half Marathon Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers, and the top three male and female finishers in the following age group categories: 15 & under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over. All age group award winners will receive a keepsake Augusta half Marathon pint glass.

 

Will I receive a medal for finishing the race?

Yes, all Augusta Half Marathon finishers will receive a commemorative medal for their accomplishment.

 

Is water available on the course?

Yes, water and Gatorade stations are located approximately every two miles along the Augusta Half Marathon course.

 

Is there a course time limit?

The Augusta Half Marathon has a three hour time limit, and the course will reopen to traffic at 11:00 am. Anyone who has not completed the race within the three-hour time limit will be responsible for their own safety and asked to move to the sidewalk.

 

A shuttle will be stationed at Berckmans Road and Ingleside Drive (approximately mile 7). Any runner who has not reached this point by 9:45 am (13:45 pace) will be required to stop the race and will be shuttled back to Enterprise Mill. Runners who wish to continue on the course will be required to relinquish their race number, move to the sidewalk and continue at their own risk.

 

Is the course closed to traffic?

No, runner’s lanes will be separated from traffic lanes by cones. Please stay inside the cones at all times.  To ensure your safety, volunteers and police officers will monitor the course.

 

What if I need to quit partway through the race?

If possible, try to make it to the nearest aid station for assistance. Otherwise, move to the right and look for a course volunteer to assist you. A "sag wagon" will sweep the course following the close of the half-marathon to pick-up any non-finishers.

Are there any items that aren't allowed on the course?

For your safety and that of others, we do not allow the following items on the course: any wheeled conveyance including baby strollers, inline skates, skateboards, bicycles, skateboards or scooters. The use of headphones and personal music devices is strongly discouraged.

 

Will there be a place where I can check my gear?

Gear drop will be located inside the Enterprise Mill Events Center on race morning. To check your gear, pick up a bag at the gear drop table and mark your bib number on the outside. Items placed in bags other than the ones received at gear drop will not be accepted in the gear check area. Please do not leave valuable or irreplaceable items in your bag. The Augusta Sports Council is not responisble for lost or missing bags. Following the race, you may show your race bib to pick up your gear outside the Enterprise Mill Events Center.     

 

How do I get to the start/finish area?

From points East or West (Interstate-20)

Take Exit 200 (Riverwatch Parkway). Follow Riverwatch Parkway approximately 4.5 miles to downtown Augusta. At the second traffic light, turn right onto St. Sebastian Way. Continue two and a half blocks, crossing over Greene Street. There will be ample parking at Enterprise Mill on the right, and Sutherland Mill on the left. Please note that the eastbound lanes of Greene Street from 15th Street to St. Sebastian Way will be closed on race morning.


From points South (Highway 25/Interstate-520)

Take Exit 7 (Peach Orchard Road/Highway 25). Follow Peach Orchard Road approximately 6 miles. Turn left onto Walton Way. Continue approximately one mile, and turn right onto St. Sebastian Way. Cross over the Augusta Canal bridge. There will be ample parking at Enterprise Mill on the left, and Sutherland Mill on the right. I can't make it to packet pick-up.  How can I get my race number and shirt?

You must pick up your own race packet. Late packet pickup will take place on race day from 6:30-7:30 am. If you haven’t picked up your packet by 7:30 am, you will not be allowed to race.

 

Can I pick up my number the morning of the race?

Race morning packet pickup will take place on race day from 6:30-7:30 am. If you haven’t picked up your packet by 7:30 am, you will not be allowed to race.

 

What is the registration deadline for the Augusta Half Marathon?

Advanced registration is open until Tuesday, February 21, 2012. On-site registration will only be open during packet pick-up on Thursday, February 23 (Atlanta) and Saturday, February 25 (Augusta). If registration is made onsite, only cash or check will be accepted as payment. Registration will not be open on race day.

 

How much does is cost to participate in the Augusta Half Marathon?

January 11-February 10, 2012 - $50.00
February 11-21, 2012 - $55.00

February 23, 2012 - $75.00 (Cash or check only)
February 25, 2012 - $75.00 (Cash or Check only)

 

Can I register for the Augusta Half Marathon the morning of the event?

No, race day registration will not be available.

 

I registered for the event, but am unable to run.  Can I get a refund?

We're sorry, but we are unable to offer refunds. As stated on the application and instructions, race fees are not refundable, nor can they be transferred or deferred.

 

Will the race be timed?

Timing will be provided by Zulu Racing, using the MyLaps Bib Tag system. Your timing chip will be attached to the race bib you receive at registration.

 

How can I find out my results from the race?

Unofficial results will be published on ZuluRacing.com three hours after the event. Results will also be posted on AugustaHalf.org.

 

Where can I find my photos from the race?

PBC Sports Photography is the official race photographer. Following the race, photos will be available at PBCSportsPhotography.com.

 

Will there be a finish line party after the race?

Yes, please join the Augusta Sports Council at the finish line area from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm for music, food and awards.

 

What will the weather be like on race day?

Unfortunately we can’t predict the weather, but below are the average highs and lows for Augusta in February:
