The mission of the Augusta Sports Council (ASC) is to market the greater Augusta community as a sports destination. The ASC team secures, creates and supports sporting activities for all skill levels, enhancing the quality of life and economic well-being of the area. The Augusta market is the second largest metropolitan area in the state and includes Augusta, North Augusta, Aiken and Columbia County.
With experience in a variety of sporting events, including rowing, cycling, tennis and more, the ASC is excited to produce a major road race for Augusta. We credit the success of the Augusta Half Marathon to our partnerships with local businesses, government agencies and the Augusta Striders Running Club. It's that sense of community that ensures that the Augusta Half Marathon will continue as one of the best annual events in the region.
